See what one box of chocolates costs.
You buy couverture chocolate by the kilo, and cream. You pack the truffles in a gold box with a ribbon. KamraiDee shows what one box of truffles really costs. Then you can set a gift price that covers your work.
Joining costs nothing. There is no waitlist.
What a box really earns
You think you make ฿130 a box. Do you?
Your time counts.
Melting, filling, setting and packing. Three hours at ฿100 an hour, over 10 boxes, is ฿30 a box.
Running costs count.
Electricity, the fridge and rent cost ฿50 every hour you work. Here that's ฿15 a box.
The gift box counts.
The box, the paper cups and the ribbon go into the cost of every box.
Sweets that break or go out of date are money lost. Log them in baht and see what they cost you.
These costs were always there. Add your hours and running costs once, and KamraiDee counts them in every box.

How to price chocolates: margin, not markup
Margin is the share of the price you keep after the true cost. With made-up numbers, a ฿160 box plus a 50% markup sells at ฿240 and leaves ฿80. That's a third of the price, not half.
FAQ
Chocolate costing questions, piece by piece
How do I calculate the cost of one box of chocolates?
Cost the whole batch, divide by the pieces it makes, then add the box. Enter each ingredient at the pack price you paid, shipping included, and say how many pieces the batch makes. KamraiDee does the division, so a box of 9 is nine pieces plus the gift box and, if you count it, your time. The insert and ribbon count too, so the profit you see already includes them.
Should I count my time in the price of chocolates?
Yes, if you want to. Add the minutes a batch takes and an hourly rate, and that cost is shared across every piece the batch makes. Leave it blank and it adds nothing.
Can I sell a box and a single bar from the same batch?
Yes. Cost the batch once, then set up each thing you sell, a box of 9 or a single bar, with its own packaging and its own price.
